GOD

GOD & YOU- discover your relationship with God!

First of all let us question ourselves who is God and who are “we”. Once we understand this, it will be easier for us to understand the relationship we share.
God is the Creator and we are His creations. In Qur’an, God is referred to as ALLAH (deriving from the Arabic word al-ilah which means “the God”). We believe in one supreme power which controls everything and He being our Creator.
“We” are His creations, in fact the best of His creations because we are blessed with a divine gift of intelligence.
Now that we believe that Allah is our Creator and we are His creations, we have to introspect ourselves as to how we build up a relationship, a connection with Him. Maintaining any possible kind of relationship is done through communication. Communication breaks barriers. We should communicate with our Creator through supplications, prayers and salah. Salah is not just an act of worship but it brings you closer to your Creator. To maintain every relationship we have to give in our efforts. For me, to be a good daughter I have to obey my parents and listen to them. To be a good employee we have to be obedient to our boss. Similarly, to be a good creation, we have to obey our Creator……..the one who has given us everything that we possess. We can obey our Creator by doing all that He wants us to do and keeping away from all that He has forbidden.
At all times, we have to keep one thing in mind that “it is we who are in need of Him, He does not need us”. Allah says in the Qur’an in Surah Ikhlas (112:1-4) He is Allah, the One and Only! Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not nor is He begotten. And there is none like unto Him. He is the only supreme power controlling everything in the Universe.
Once we understand the concept of why we are created, it will help us maintain a good healthy relationship with God. Everything in this world is created out of purpose. When a creation (man) can invent things like pen, computer, television, satellites etc out of purpose then don’t you think Allah being the Creator would have created us out of a greater purpose? And the purpose is nothing other than worshipping Him. Allah says in the Qur’an “And I (Allah) created not the jinns and the men except they should worship Me (Alone)” [51:56].
Allah has stressed upon saying to worship Him alone and not associating partners with Him. The biggest of all sins we can do is by associating partners with Him. In India this is done commonly by worshipping animals, grave worshipping, worshipping an individual or idol worshipping.
To get closer with our Lord, we have to worship Him alone and be obedient towards him.
This is not at all a difficult task. Allah, who has given us everything, who sustains us all, who has given us beautiful parents……is just asking us to be obedient towards Him. Is this a difficult task? Have we become so ignorant that we cannot thank Him even? Can’t we take out just some time out of our schedule and worship Him? The answer is yes we can, only if we WANT! It’s time we should introspect ourselves and find out our connection with Allah and build a relationship with Him. We have to give immense love to Allah (swt) to be loved by Him in return and we have to follow Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) because Allah says in the Qur’an “If you truly love me, follow Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and I will love you”.
May Allah guide us all to the straight path and enable us to discover our relationship with Him. We seek help from Allah in discovering this relationship. May Allah keep our imaan steadfast and keep us all away from sins…..Aameen!!

[Message of ISLAM,WORD ALLAH EXPLAINED]

WHO IS YOUR LORD?

Allah
Allah!
-Chaplain Yusuf Estes
In fact "Allah" is the perfect word to describe the "One God" of monotheism.
Where Does the word "Allah" Come From?
"Allah" comes from the Arabic word "elah" - (Arabic) means 'a god' or something that is worshipped. This word (elah) can be made plural, as in "aleha" and it can be male or female. "Allah" comes from "elaha" but it brings more clarification and understanding.

Allah = Has no gender (not male and not female)
* "
He" is used only out of respect and dignity - not for gender
Allah = Always singular - Never plural
* "
We" is used only as the "Royal WE" just as in English for royalty
Allah =Means "The Only One to be Worshipped"
Is "Allah" only for Islam and Muslims?
"Allah" is the same word used by Christian and Jewish Arabs in the Bible, before Islam came.
On page one [1] of Genesis in the Old Testament, we find the word "Allah" seventeen [17] times.
